WATERBORNE POLYURETHANES
Since 1995
ERCA has developed its own technology for the production of polyurethane dispersions ( PUD ).
In 2016 ERCA acquired Hydrotech srl and we can now count on two production sites and on a very wide range of products which go under the name
ERCAPUR, HYDROTECH, HYTHANE, HYCAT.
We strain at sustainable solutions and innovation and we have attitude to meet the quality requirements of our customers.
By means of different polymerization technologies we have built up a product assortment that complies with the varied requirements of the formulator such as processability, elasticity or stiffness, hardness or softness, gloss or opacity and the demand of the consumer in terms of chemical and mechanical resistance, weathering , durability , fashion and many others.
Such heterogeneous needs requires quite a knowledge of either engineering, processing and raw materials. The latter encompass polyether, polyester and polycarbonate polyols and in most cases aliphatic isocyanates. Both components, polyols and isocyanates, associated with selected chain extenders and cross-linkers produce dispersions that range the whole ionic spectra, from anionic to nonionic and cationic.
As well as obtaining technical performing solutions our
R&D department is committed to sustainable solutions and as a consequence our product range meets today’s requirement of products solvent free or, if needed, containing extremely low amounts of non dangerous solvents.
ERCAPUR, HYDROTECH, HYTHANE and HYCAT can be used in coating applications, neat or blended, with other water based polymeric emulsions.
They can be easily formulated with pigments, matting agents, coalescing agents, fire retardants and other auxiliaries and polymers to produce fully compounded products.
ERCAPUR, HYDROTECH and HYTHANE PUD can be cross-linked with classic curing agents like dilutable polyisocyanate or multifunctional polycarbodiimides resins.
